About
The Wicklow MTB Festival is a high-energy weekend in the Wicklow Mountains where mountain biking takes centre stage—fast racing, big jumps, and thrilling downhill sections on forest trails.
As a spectator, you can pick a great viewing spot to cheer riders on, then head back to the festival hub for food, music, and plenty of chat and atmosphere. Even if you’ve never been on a mountain bike, it’s an exciting outdoor day out with loads to watch!

Choose your Event.
Whip Off

- Date: Friday 8th May
- Time: 7pm to 8pm
Ireland’s most skilful riders show off their style on the jump trail. Spectators are welcome and there’s a BBQ and awards presentation afterwards.
Enduro

- Date: Saturday 9th May
- Time: 9am to 4pm
On Saturday the racing goes up a level with the ‘Enduro’ race which sees riders taking on every descent in Ballinastoe Woods and beyond.
Cross Country

- Date: Sunday 10th May
- Time: 9am to 2pm
Ireland’s fittest mountain bikers to tackle the Ballinastoe Trails in the Cross Country (XC) event as part of the national points series.
Downhill

- Date: Sunday 10th May
- Time: 2pm to 4pm
The festival will come to a close with Ireland’s bravest and most skilful riders, racing against the clock on the famous 2km long ‘Junkers’ DH trail.
FAQ’s
A: No spectators do not need a ticket.
A: The festival runs over three days, 8–10 May 2026.
A: It takes place at Ballinastoe MTB Trails, Roundwood, County Wicklow, with a festival village at the trail centre area.
A: All events with the exception of the Enduro are right at the festival village (easy viewing).
A: The festival will be very busy and dogs might find it stressful. If you bring a dog, please keep it on a short lead and away from taped race areas.
A: No—only spectate from designated safe areas and always follow marshal/steward instructions. Stay off taped sections and never step close the racing line.
